IT Service Manager - Digital and Technology (Local Authority)

Location: BS1 6AL, Hybrid (2 days office-based)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: 3+ months
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 08:30am - 05:00pm, 37 hours per week
Pay Rate: £500 - £550 per day (PAYE)

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced IT Service Manager to join a Local Authority based in Bristol. Reporting to the Head of Digital, Data and Operations, you will ensure that the digital and technology services meet business needs and agreed service levels. As the client-side lead for the Authority's main ICT contract and other digital and technology service providers, you will ensure that all staff have the right technology and services to perform their roles effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage digital and technology services to meet business requirements.
  • Serve as the client-side lead for the Authority's main ICT contract and other digital service providers.
  • Ensure all Combined Authority staff have the necessary technology and services.
  • Collaborate with project teams to establish effective service management arrangements.
  • Identify and resolve service-related issues, managing service delivery across multiple stakeholders.
  • Define and implement the service management framework for key transport projects aligned with Metro Mayoral priorities.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Proven work experience as a Service Manager or a similar role, with experience in service management for software systems.
  • Proven contract management experience.
  • Expertise in managing service delivery across multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience with various suppliers, partners, managed service providers, and SaaS services, particularly Azure/365.
  • In-depth knowledge of service management frameworks, processes, and best practices.
