Chichester College have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a IT Technical Support at our Chichester campus. You will join us on a part time (variable hours), fixed term contract until 31st July 2024 and in return, we will offer a competitive salary of £12.93 per hour.
The IT Technical Support role:
Are you looking for a flexible role that could fit around university studies or family responsibilities or that ideal part time role to earn a bit of extra money?
As IT Technical Support in our STEM team, you will join our small internal STEM IT department that supports almost 100 systems onsite across a number of classrooms in a bespoke lab network within the Computing department. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a keen interest in IT, maybe someone studying their own IT qualification and wants to gain extra experience. You will be working mostly to your own pace, with support and guidance from key individuals and the Computing teaching team.
Key Responsibilities of ourIT Technical Support:
- Facilitating daily activities within the learning environment, including the preparation of teaching resources and housekeeping.
- Providing assistance to individuals or groups of students within the learning environment.
- Implementing and maintaining the regulations of the Health and Safety at Work Act and the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health legislation, including the reviews of health and safety policies and procedures in the workplace and undertake risk assessments.
- Participating in curriculum area, College, employer/parent functions, meetings and promotional activities as required.
- Participating in course review activities and the generation and implementation of new resources and action plans.
- Monitoring and maintaining equipment and prepare replacement plans.
- Ordering and stock taking materials and equipment.
- Cleaning and maintaining working spaces, develop a working environment and provide Technical Support and assistance for projects.
- Software administration, hardware installs and maintenance along with raising tickets with vendors and suppliers when the need arises.
- Providing support to both learners and teaching staff.
Our ideal IT Technical Support should have the below skills and experience:
- Relevant industrial/subject experience
- Working knowledge of the relevant vocational area
- Level 2 qualification in the relevant subject area
- Level 2 qualification in the relevant subject area
