As IT/OTData Infrastructure Engineer you will be responsible for the availability and performance of the RWE IT/OT databases and data services, both on premise and Azure Cloud. This includes databases (SQL, Non-SQL, Redis), data related services such as Synapse and Databricks and Middleware (BizTalk, Apache Nifi).
Roles & Responsibilities
- You are responsible for our BizTalk and Apache Nifi instances
- You support deploy and maintain database resources and data related services, both on premise and in Azure
- You support to enforce standards and automation, by developing processes that can work in all resources at once
- You align with other teams to support user needs: accessibility, troubleshooting and performance
- You technically advice other teams about how to get the best out of the database products, data services and middleware
- You support data(base) migrations and backups to ensure data integrity and to facilitate disaster recovery
- You help to manage Data Infrastructure security and audit
- You help to the availability and scalability of the databases and data services
- You collaborate with stakeholders to define and prioritise Data Infrastructure engineering projects, setting realistic timelines and expectations
- You write/ensure technical documentations
- You help to steer and manage our external partners which support us with (24/7) operations of our databases, data services and middleware
Requirements
- Experience with Middleware, ideally BizTalk and/or Apache Nifi
- Experience working with different MS SQL versions and editions and to develop SQL code
- Experience with data services in Azure (e. g. Synapse, Databricks)
- Experience in high availability, clustering, replication
- Preferably experience in other databases (Redis, MongoDB, Postgresql, mysql)
- Preferably experience with Terraform, Ansible and PowerShell
- Preferably experience with Data Engineering and Data Science
- Preferably experience with Azure cloud architecture in general
- Preferably experience with monitoring Data Infrastructure
- Completed apprenticeship in the IT area with practical experience or a similar degree, e. g. a completed degree from a technical college
- You are fluent in English
