The role of the Junior DTC Trading Manager is fundamentally to support the Head of DTC by executing the regional DTC trading strategy to deliver online sales growth, whilst aligning with the Global DTC stand out proposition and Tommee Tippee brand strategy.
Day to day, this role will be responsible for ensuring continuity of the trading activity; from accurate forecasting to implementing pricing and promotional strategy to ensure an exceptional customer experience and drive sales growth.
The successful candidate will be embedded into the Trading Team with on-the-job training to fully understand; our Brand, products, ways of working and the various tools and systems we use to drive success. You will possess an understanding of Digital and Ecommerce fundamentals with a desire to develop and grow as part of a supportive and ambitious team.
To build strong relationships with the Mayborn internal teams we are looking for someone with a collaborative can do attitude, who can work at pace meet commercial objectives whilst growing brand engagement through the online platform.
This role will be based at our Global Headquarters located in Newcastle Upon Tyne and will be required to work in the office three days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday).
What you will be doing:
Creating and implementing trading plans that align with the DTC SoP and Strategy in to deliver against revenue targets.
- Responsible for managing the trading calendar:
o Ensuring the plan aligns with commercial targets, and commercial strategy set by the Head of DTC Trading.
o Refine & measure trade up strategy to maximise AOP
o Ensure trading calendar supports our goal to maximise long term growth whilst maintaining short term revenue delivery as we reduce our reliance on promotions and build brand engagement.
- Responsible for agreeing, managing and reporting against topline revenue, AOV, sessions and CVR targets.
o Track against these targets on a weekly and monthly basis and communicate to the Head of DTC and DTC cross functional team where the gaps and opportunities lie for further investigation.
o Collaborate with DTC analyst to measure the results of performance and lead weekly and monthly reporting to continually optimise performance as new learnings emerge.
o Support regional marketing to agree clear KPIs and targets by channel for 2023 with the regional and global marketing teams to ensure full internal team and agency alignment on goals.
- Responsible for being the commercial voice in meetings to drive urgency and alignment on response to critical performance metrics to ensure full cross functional UK team is working together to understand the key drivers and address the opportunities with the greatest impact.
- Responsible for implementing the price and promo strategy set by the Head of DTC Trading, ensuring consistent monitoring with the support of DTC analyst.
- Constantly push boundaries and motivate the cross functional team to ensure an agile test and learn approach to maximise revenue whilst maintaining a consumer first proposition.
- Lead the effective trading of the DTC website in line with the SoP, maximising revenue within agreed parameters whilst maintaining contribution.
- Drive AOV through collaboration with Trading and Merchandising executive to effectively drive cross sell and upsell.
- Use category data led approach, paired with consumer led campaigns to spot opportunities to drive revenue and margin growth.
- Work with DTC Analyst to interrogate category and power sku data YoY, vs. AOP and vs. base rate to highlight areas of opportunity to optimize on site through pricing, promotions, cross sell and upsell.
- Lead the product mix strategy to enable Trading and Merchandising executive to effectively upsell, cross sell mechanics to support the sales of high margin consumables and strategically important seeding products.
- Implement pricing and promotions strategy by checking pricing vs. the market and adjusting in line with pricing and promotion principles.
- Planning always on added value and cross sell promotions, briefing into merchandising executive and monitoring results.
- Onsite Banners: Support in the planning of general onsite banners including the homepage, that align to the Trading Calendar to successfully feature NPD launches, Power SKUs, etc.
- Lead the briefing of onsite commercial events such as Spring Sale, curating pricing, product, and promotional mechanics to align with commercial KPIs as set by the Head of DTC.
- Manage the DTC sales forecasting with both the commercial and demand planning teams to ensure correct and good stock availability within the agreed tolerances.
What skills and experiences you’ll need to ace this job:
- 1 years + ecommerce experience – DTC commercial experience preferable but not essential. The successful candidate will be embedded into the Trading Team with on-the-job training.
