Are you a skilled and meticulous Quantity Surveyor with a passion for house building projects? We are seeking a dynamic professional to join our team as a House Building Quantity Surveyor. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of our growing construction projects in Durham, UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Management: Efficiently manage and control project costs throughout all phases, from inception to completion.
- Budgeting and Estimation: Develop accurate cost estimates for house building projects, ensuring alignment with project goals and financial constraints.
- Contract Administration: Oversee contract administration, including the preparation, negotiation, and management of contracts to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
- Value Engineering: Identify opportunities for value engineering to optimize project costs without compromising quality.
- Tendering Process: Participate in the tendering process, evaluating bids and providing recommendations to support the selection of contractors and suppliers.
- Risk Management: Proactively identify and assess potential risks, implementing strategies to minimize their impact on project outcomes.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and alignment of objectives.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
- Proven experience in quantity surveying for house building projects.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts and relevant legislation.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
- Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Excel, CostX, or equivalent.
- RICS or equivalent professional accreditation is desirable.
