Junior Quantity Surveyor

Job Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our cleint's dynamic team. The successful candidate will assist in the financial and contractual management of our structural steel projects. Key Responsibilities:

• Cost Estimation and Budgeting:

  • Assist in the preparation of cost estimates for projects.
  • Help develop and manage project budgets.
  • Provide input on cost-saving strategies.

• Tendering and Contract Management:

  • Support the preparation and submission of tender documents.
  • Assist in reviewing and negotiating contracts with clients and subcontractors.
  • Maintain and update contract documentation.

• Measurement and Valuation:

  • Conduct site visits to measure and value work done.
  • Prepare and submit progress claims.
  • Assist in the preparation of final accounts.

• Financial Reporting:

  • Assist in the preparation of regular financial reports for management.
  • Monitor project expenditures and identify variances from budgets.
  • Support the management of project cash flow and financial forecasting.

• Risk Management:

  • Identify and assess potential risks to project finances.
  • Assist in the implementation of risk mitigation strategies.

• Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and site staff.
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Attend project meetings and provide necessary financial information.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education:

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.

• Experience:

  • Previous experience or internships in a construction or manufacturing environment is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with structural steel projects is a plus.

• Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in using quantity surveying software and tools.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts and cost management.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
