Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our cleint's dynamic team. The successful candidate will assist in the financial and contractual management of our structural steel projects. Key Responsibilities:
Cost Estimation and Budgeting:
- Assist in the preparation of cost estimates for projects.
- Help develop and manage project budgets.
- Provide input on cost-saving strategies.
Tendering and Contract Management:
- Support the preparation and submission of tender documents.
- Assist in reviewing and negotiating contracts with clients and subcontractors.
- Maintain and update contract documentation.
Measurement and Valuation:
- Conduct site visits to measure and value work done.
- Prepare and submit progress claims.
- Assist in the preparation of final accounts.
Financial Reporting:
- Assist in the preparation of regular financial reports for management.
- Monitor project expenditures and identify variances from budgets.
- Support the management of project cash flow and financial forecasting.
Risk Management:
- Identify and assess potential risks to project finances.
- Assist in the implementation of risk mitigation strategies.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and site staff.
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Attend project meetings and provide necessary financial information.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education:
- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
Experience:
- Previous experience or internships in a construction or manufacturing environment is advantageous.
- Familiarity with structural steel projects is a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in using quantity surveying software and tools.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts and cost management.
- Competent in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
