Junior Sous Chef – Tavistock – £33,000 – Live-In

Job Description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Junior Sous Chef to join this established hotel kitchen team. Previous experience within a rosette-level setting would be ideal though not essential with the right attitude.

This is a permanent role.

As the Junior Sous Chef you will be required to:

• Assist the Head Chef with menu planning, rota changes, staff training and stock control.
• Consistently maintain high standards of food service and provision to meet the expectations of the guests.
• Ensure that the methods of preparation and presentation comply with current recognised catering standards and those implemented by the Head Chef.
• Take operational control, including supervision of all kitchen staff as required by the Head Chef
• Work with the Head Chef to ensure that effective induction, supervision and appraisals of the team are carried out and that training needs are identified and met.

• Have experience cooking with fresh produce from scratch.
• Hold Level 2 Food Hygeine certificate.
