Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Key Account Manager to join the Vintage Sales team.

With a catalogue of over 6,000 titles, Vintage publishes some of the world’s most thought-provoking, unforgettable, beautifully designed books – from contemporary trailblazers to our red-spine Vintage Classics. This means that our broad family of authors ranges from world-class prize-winners to emerging talent, including Nigella Lawson, Toni Morrison, Margaret Atwood, Jo Nesbo, Rukmini Iyer, Gabrielle Zevin and Ian McEwan.

This is a key role in a busy sales department where you will have account management responsibility for Waterstones and WHS Travel. You will work collaboratively, and creatively, with Buyers and Booksellers to build a successful relationship with these key retail partners. You will bring market feedback into the Division, generating actions as a result of this insight, and work collegiately with our divisional colleagues as well as the wider sales team.

Your role will also involve working with our Sales Operations, Inventory, and Production teams, managing budgets, and analysing the market for trends and sales opportunities. You will report into the Sales Manager in this role.

We are looking for someone who has a customer-centric mindset, is a strong communicator and someone who has a proven track record of building excellent working relationships with a variety of stakeholders internally and externally.

The ideal candidate would have a proactive mindset, an eye for detail and an analytical mindset. Strong presentation skills, commercial acumen and sales analysis skills are also vital.

Vintage is an exciting place to work. We pride ourselves on our dynamic culture, and the whole division celebrates our successes. Sales colleagues are encouraged to interact with the editorial, marketing and publicity teams to deliver the very best results for our books and authors.

Everyone’s voice is important, and we are looking for someone who can bring a fresh and exciting new perspective to our team.
