Wirksworth Junior School are looking for a keen, enthusiastic Teacher who is willing to work hard to inspire and enthuse young minds, covering a maternity leave from September 2024. We are really pleased that in July of last year, OFSTED stated that the school was rated as good, and it is exciting times for the school, as we look to sustain the momentum of turning the school around. The role will be to teach in a junior mixed aged class supported by another parallel teacher. The position would be to coordinate a non-core subject across the school, so we are looking for someone with leadership experience and in turn we will offer regular leadership time to cover these areas. There will be opportunities for supply work before this date to get to know the class and the school, with potential to start the position from June 2024, if possible, but we can wait until September for the right candidate.
Our school motto is:
Creative. Curious. Caring. We make every moment count.
The successful candidate would be looking to develop these areas through their teaching but also through a whole school culture. The school has a buzz about it and everybody is working hard to sustain our fantastic outcomes from Ofsted. The successful person would share this enthusiasm and also be committed to getting the best from the children at our school.
In return, we would offer:
- Creative pupils who are excited about their learning.
- A teaching team who are excited about change and getting the best they can from each and every pupil.
- A governing body who want to lead and make a difference in these young children’s lives.
If you wish to be part of this exciting journey, we have ahead of us, or are interested to find out more, please phone the school on 01629 822457 to arrange a visit or email headteacher@wirksworth-jun.derbyshire.sch.uk.
We look forward to meeting you.
