Key Worker/Support Worker

Join our team at Norman Galloway Homes as a Support Worker! We supportcare leavers aged 16+ through various accommodation and job programmes in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. Full-time and part-time positions are available with a competitive salary range of £22,308.00 to £26,325.00 per year.

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of experience working with care leavers or a related group.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and safeguarding regulations.
• Good understanding of safeguarding principles.
• Applications welcome from those with lived experience.

As a Support Worker you will:

• Provide practical and emotional support to help care leavers develop independent living skills, including budgeting, cooking, and cleaning.
• Support care leavers in identifying employment, education, and training needs and help them access relevant opportunities.
• Deliver training and workshops on independent living skills and job readiness, providing ongoing coaching and support to care leavers participating in the jobs programme.
• Work closely with the Administration Team to ensure care leavers receive appropriate support.
• Advocate for care leavers to ensure their needs are met and assist them in navigating complex systems such as benefits and housing.

Skills:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage priorities.
• Knowledge and understanding of the needs of care leavers.
• Ability to deliver training and workshops on independent living skills.
• Excellent record-keeping and monitoring skills.
• A full UK driving license is essential.
