Role Overview:
As a Nursery Kitchen Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our nursery kitchen. Working under the guidance of our Head Chef, you will assist in the preparation and serving of nutritious meals for children attending the nursery. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification who is passionate about providing healthy and delicious meals to young children.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of meals, snacks, and beverages in accordance with nutritional guidelines and dietary requirements.
- Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment at all times, adhering to food safety standards and regulations.
- Assist with stock management, including ordering and storing of food supplies.
- Support the Head Chef in menu planning and development, taking into consideration children's preferences and dietary needs.
- Collaborate with nursery staff to ensure meals are served in a timely manner and that children's individual dietary requirements are met.
Requirements:
- Minimum Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification.
- Previous experience working in a kitchen environment, preferably within a nursery or school setting.
- A passion for working with young children and promoting healthy eating habits.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
