KS1 Class Teacher (Maternity Cover)

Reed Education/The Lancashire Teaching Agency are seeking a dedicated KS1 Class Teacher for Maternity Cover, starting from June 2024 until Easter 2025. This is an ideal opportunity for an Early Career Teacher (ECT) or an experienced teacher looking for a temporary role. The position involves working with a Reception class initially, to become acquainted with the students before transitioning to the KS1 class in September.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Delivering engaging and effective teaching and learning to Reception and KS1 pupils.
- Planning lessons and activities that cater to the needs of all students.
- Assessing and recording pupils’ progress and preparing them for the next stage of their education.
- Creating a positive, safe, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and participating in school events and activities.
- Communicating effectively with parents and carers about their children’s progress and well-being.
- Contributing to the wider school community and its ethos.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience in teaching Reception or KS1 is desirable but not essential.
- Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and KS1 curriculum.
- Ability to plan and deliver creative and stimulating lessons.
- Excellent classroom management skills.
- Commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn.
