Reed Scientific are recruiting for a Laboratory Equipment Manager to oversee and coordinate the maintenance, repair, qualification, and calibration of analytical and production equipment across our client's business. This role requires a flexible and supportive approach to meet evolving business needs and ensure service excellence. It's a great opportunity for any Analytical Chemists or QC Analysts that enjoy troubleshooting Laboratory Equipment and want to enter the realm of people management.
Day to Day of the Role:- Manage the Equipment Team’s schedule to ensure timely routine maintenance and ad-hoc repairs.
- Carry out or delegate reactive repairs and qualification to lab equipment, minimising downtime and monitoring performance against KPIs.
- Develop specialist technical knowledge on a range of equipment and lead procurement processes.
- Support projects, including equipment relocation and procurement.
- Review and approve qualification data and ensure compliance with QMS records.
- Provide management updates on team performance, equipment issues, and project progress.
- Communicate effectively with the Manager and maintain key relationships across the business.
- Perform tasks in accordance with company procedures and GMP principles.
- Experience with a range of Laboratory Equipment, particularly HPLC.
- Preferably experienced in a GMP environment.
- Experience in leading a team is desirable, but not essential
- Excellent IT literacy and organisational skills.
- Strong communication skills and experience in team management.
