Equip Business Solutions specialises in accountancy solutions for the self-employed subcontractor. Equip are currently undergoing a new company restructure, to re-launch our services back into the marketplace. Equip Business Solutions is also a part of a group of 3 companies, that all work together in tandem. One company operates a courier delivery service, the second company operates a van hire service and Equip (the third company) is an accountancy practice, offering accountancy services to the customers of the courier company and the van hire company. And as stated before, Equip will now be offering services to small to medium enterprises.
Equip currently comprises of 1 accounts administrator and 1 accounts co-ordinator. Due to growth, we are looking for a Qualified Accountant to oversee the operations of Equip and the ideal candidate should specialise in Managerial Accounting. The role of this Qualified Accountant can be split in to four areas; 1. Oversee the in-house bookkeepers for the 3 companies, 2. Preparation and submission of year end accounts, corporation tax returns and VAT submissions for the 3 companies, 3. Managerial accounting for the 3 companies to support their financial efficiency and for tracking progress toward attaining particular financial goals, 4. Offering and running accountancy services to self-employed contractors and SME's. You will head the accountancy operations for Equip and you will be assisted by the accounts administrator and the accounts co-ordinator as you manage their workflow for Equip.
Here is a more detailed look at the duties you will carry out:
Oversee the in-house bookkeepers for the 3 companies
- Each of the 3 companies have their own in-house bookkeepers, so you will need to ensure that the ledgers are accurate and kept up to date
- Spot check/audit/check for errors
- Ensure correct categories are used within accounting software
- Ensure all accounts have been reconciled accounting software
Preparation and submission of year end accounts, corporation tax returns and VAT submissions for the 3 companies:
- Prepare and submit year end accounts for the 3 companies
- Corporation tax returns
- Confirmation statement Filing
- Quarterly VAT submission
- Assist in bookkeeping where required
Managerial accounting for the 3 companies:
- Generating and analysing financial statements, and advising on financial improvements based on the data
- Budget plans & affordability
- Profit and loss statement forecasting
- Cost cutting opportunities
- Balance Sheet Forecast
- Cash Flow Forecast
Offering and running accountancy services to self-employed contractors and SME's:
- We currently have approximately 20 self-employed contractors on our books, who we offer a variety of accountancy services to. So, for each customer, you could be servicing varying accountancy areas such as:
- Bookkeeping
- Self-assessments/tax returns
- Preparation and submission of year end accounts and corporation tax returns
- VAT submission / VAT flat rate managing / VAT back date managing
- Due to our new company restructure, our accounts administrator will be responsible for new business development/acquiring new customers to grow our customer base, to which new customers will be serviced by Equip (you and your team)
Key experience, skills & qualities:
- Qualified accountant - Minimum level 4 AAT (or equivalent ACCA, CIMA)
- Proficient in QuickBooks - Minimum 2 year required
- Bookkeeping - Minimum 2 year required
- Managerial Accounting - Minimum 2 year required
- Excellent knowledge of risk analysis, budgeting, and forecasting
- Fully proficient in the VAT Flat Rate Scheme and can serve our customers in this
- Fully proficient in VAT Back Dating and can serve our customers in this
