Reed Scientific is partnering with a well-established chemical manufacturer based in Lincolnshire with an international presence. They are looking for a hands on Laboratory Manager to manage up to two members of staff and all aspects of a small laboratory.
Responsibilities:
- Laboratory compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 and other laboratory accreditations
- Development and validation of analytical methods
- Routine analysis and producing accurate results
- Authorisation of results and Certificates of Analysis
- Managing laboratory documentation and establishing laboratory procedures
- Involvement in financial decisions
- Ensuring that the laboratory consumables are fully stocked and equipment maintained
- Workload planning
- Staff training, supervision and recruitment
Ideal Candidate:
- A degree in Chemistry or extensive experience in a similar role
- Minimum 2 years’ experience of working in an industrial laboratory
- Extensive experience in Analytical Chemistry and ISO17025 knowledge
- Experience of Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectroscopy and Segmented Flow Analysis
- Experience in undertaking development and validation of analytical methods
- Knowledge of inorganic chemistry
- Knowledge of MS Office and ideally LIMS software
- Effective communication skills at all levels
- Full UK driving license and own vehicle
- Flexible with working hours when required
