SRG are supporting the growth of an innovator specialising in the design, development, manufacture of advanced wound care products. They are currently recruiting for a Research and Development Technician to join their friendly, close-knit team based in Cheshire.. Reporting to the R&D Manager (Scientific Services), this role will support R&D projects throughout their lifecycle, by performing a range of tests i.e. physical / analytical, required for the research and development of new products.
The role will require you to:
Support R&D by performing a range of tests i.e. physical / analytical in accordance with approved test methods in a timely and effective manner.
Assist in the organisation of stability testing to ensure minimal delay and prioritisation of stability samples in alignment with the R&D Development Team.
To assist in identifying, developing and validating new test methods within Scientific Services for the evaluation and verification of R&D projects.
To accurately record data and file information e.g. raw data in accordance with AMS Good Laboratory Practices and R&D procedures.
Raise laboratory investigations, NCs, when required
To consult with relevant members of the R&D team should any test result fail to meet documented acceptance criteria or anticipated result and demonstrate a proactive approach to problem solving and / or recommendations.
Write / Review WIs / Protocols / Reports where appropriate
Ensure the R&D Scientific Services Laboratories are maintained in a compliant state by ensuring that materials, chemicals, reagents and equipment required for R&D testing are always in stock and calibrated/validated, media is prepared to meet laboratory demands and all procedures, COSHH, risk assessments are current.
What they are looking for?
Educated to A-level (or equivalent) in a scientific discipline, as a minimum.
Previous relevant experience in medical devices desirable.
Good laboratory skills , understanding of test procedures and strong analytical skills
