We have an exciting opportunity for a LCV and Plant Technician to join our team. You will service, maintain and repair Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV) and Plant fleet assets compliantly, safely and efficiently so that United Utilities can deliver the best quality water and wastewater service to our customers.
Job Accountabilities
You will deliver all new fleet and Plant assets into the business, managing and maintaining these assets, and ensuring that they are the most effective solution for our business requirements. You will also:
- Work in conjunction with the wider business.
- Be responsible for the day to day maintenance of United Utilities plant and fleet assets, ranging from: LCVs and 4X4 Vehicles, Pumps, Trailers and Grounds Maintenance Equipment.
- Repair and maintain fleet and Plant in a cost efficient manner due to the diverse range of fleet and Plant assets.
- Liaise with Operators with regards to the maintenance and repair of fleet and Plant assets.
- Commissioning and decommissioning fleet and Plant assets.
- Keep appropriate records and ensure all documentation is filled in accurately and on time.
- Comply with Ministry of Transport legislation and Health and Safety regulations, and deal with Health and Safety issues.
- Prepare for LCV MOTs.
- Undertake fault diagnosis via electronic computer software.
Knowledge and Skills
- NVQ level 3 Light Vehicle Repair and Maintenance certificate or equivalent.
- Full driving license.
- Proven experience in the Maintenance and Repair of LCV Vehicles and Plant.
- Expertise in vehicle electrics and Computer fault diagnosis.
- Significant experience in all aspects of mechanical servicing and repairs within a fast paced environment.
- Able to deliver a high standard of work to enable the efficient and cost effective provision and maintenance of fleet and Plant to the Company.
- Able to work within a team to realise a smooth and seamless performance in order to ensure excellent Customer Service to the Business.
- Have or willing to obtain C+E Driving License and IRTEC Vehicle Inspection Technician.
