Business Unit: Digital Banking
Salary: £68,000 - £102,000 DOE per annum + red hot benefits 
Location: Remote with occasional travel to a hub or office

Our Team

We are looking for a Lead Content Designer to join Virgin Money's Human-Centred Design function. We are a team of Digital Designers, Content Designers and User Researchers. Our design practice works across everything Virgin Money does online, creating delightful digital experiences for our users. What you'll be doing

  • Leading our Content Design function, and our team of talented Content Designers.
  • Defining and implementing best practice for content design.
  • Working with the Head of Digital Design to stand up a Content Design Centre of Excellence.
  • Delivering our digital content standards, tone of voice and be a champion for content strategy best practices.
  • Working across multiple cross-bank projects in order to ensure our digital content strategy is visible, understood and applied.
  • Taking responsibility for content quality throughout the product development process ensuring content is always on tone and on brand.
  • Working closely with senior stakeholders to resolve problems and develop future projects.
  • Promoting the content design discipline by engaging with the cross-bank community.

We need you to have

  • The ability to influence business direction with strategic design thinking.
  • Be an expert at designing for digital services, with a proven track record of success.
  • Be a strong leader, both internally within a design team and externally with senior stakeholders.  
  • Exceptional organisation skills and be able to establish working practices for a team of people.
  • Be able to influence and challenge internal functions to ensure that the user experience and customer needs are always at the core of what we deliver.
  • Experience working at a senior level within design.
  • Proficient at leading a team of Content Designers.
  • Experience of setting and implementing best practice content design within a company.

It's a bonus if you have but not essential

  • Experience of creating and iterating content across multiple digital channels including, but not limited to: user interface copy, microcopy, user education, direct or transactional sales or product servicing content.
  • A background in copywriting, UX writing or writing for the web.
  • Knowledge of style guides, pattern libraries and content modelling.
  • Experience of defining and implementing a brand tone of voice.
