Lead Digital Electronics Design Engineer
Salary:Dependent on experience + 10% bonus
Location: Portsmouth
We currently have a vacancy to join one of the world's leading, global defence, security and aerospace companies as a Lead Digital Electronics Design Engineer. This role will be based in Portsmouth and offers the opportunity for hybrid working (2 days per week on site and 3 days per week remote) and flexible working arrangements.

Working in the Digital Electronics Design team, their goal is to accelerate the development of complex products, systems, and sub-systems by overcoming the established engineering disciplines, while addressing each engineering problem. As a Digital Electronics Design Engineer, you will be responsible for their digital designs. They will provide you with the opportunity to join various complex development projects and you will have the opportunity to see the full lifecycle and contribute through all phases.
Main Responsibilities:
• Detailed digital electronic circuit design including component selection, evaluation, simulation, schematic capture, and liaising with PCB design teams
• VHDL design, code, simulation, test, and integration and embedded IP
• Design verification using a combination of simulation, analysis, and test techniques, including support to EMC test houses and customer installations
• Generate design documentation and technical reports
• Interfacing with related disciplines
• Assist the development of higher-level system designs and development of technical requirement specifications
• Support system integration activities

About You:
• To be successful you will ideally have educational background in Electronic Engineering or strongly related subject, and have experience in one or more of the following areas:
oGenerating component level digital electronic designs for introduction into volume production
oDevelopment of FPGA/CPLD designs
oDigital design including processor interfacing, memory devices, PLD interfacing, UARTs, SPI, I2C, Ethernet etc
oADC/DAC devices and techniques
oDesign proving, integration, and defect resolution
oGathering of evidence to support acceptance, fitness for purpose, legislative requirements, and safety
You must be eligible to apply for SC clearance and, therefore, must hold a British passport and have lived and worked in the UK for the past 5 years
