#IC2024

We’ve recently joined forces with our Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) business, a leading global corporate insurance carrier across more than 30 countries and a key business unit of the Allianz Group. This is creating a one ‘face to market’ bringing together the best of Allianz to our mid and large corporate customers, trading as ‘Allianz Commercial’.

This is an exciting opportunity for us and one which will provide significant strides in our journey towards becoming the UK’s Number 1 Commercial Insurer. Bringing together Allianz UK and AGCS as ‘One Allianz’ will drive profitable growth across this important segment and establish ourselves as the employer of choice. There’s a lot of work to be done to bring together our combined strengths, expertise, and assets and so the collaboration of our people is key to the success of this.

As a result of this proposition, we have created a brand-new position in the Lead Renewable Power Risk Engineer to join us on this journey and to contribute towards growing our renewable business.

Along with your Engineering degree/qualifications (a must have), this role would be ideal for someone who shares our passion for renewable energy. You may already be in a Lead Engineer position, or you may be someone looking for the next natural step up into a Lead role.  An insurance background is not essential (though advantageous) as our training programme will cover that; and in addition, we will provide support to assist you in obtaining CII (Chartered Insurance Institute) qualification.

You will develop and maintain professional working relationships with our Underwriting, Distribution, Communications and Claims teams, as well as with our clients and brokers.

  • Work with underwriting, clients and brokers to develop customized loss control engineering programs and support the development of insurance programs. Generate and review required reports and recommendations, presenting results to Underwriters, clients and brokers.
  • Follow up on technological developments in your area and proactively engage in knowledge exchange with expert groups, training internal customers and external clients
  • Proactively support the development of data-based tools for simplified and optimized risk analysis

About you

  • Ideally you will already be an experienced Power Risk Engineer with experience of manufacturers, operators or service providers and have expert knowledge for power and renewable energy applications such as onshore wind or PV parks.
