As the Lead Risk Oofficer you will foster and encourage a sound common credit culture and to avoid undue risk concentrations, with the aim of ensuring a sustainable high quality lending portfolio. In carrying out these duties, you must be fully aware of the need to meet customer requirements and the overall effect of the marketplace on the credit process. At all times, credit standards, as issued by Group Risk, must be followed.

In this role you will:
• Evaluate, recommend, and approve transactions and annual reviews within a significant personal approval authority.
• Ensure prudent and well-structured credit proposals to reduce credit losses.
• Assist the Senior Risk Officer by:
- Assess on a continuous basis the credit quality of the allocated portfolio with a particular view to ensuring the appropriateness of CRRs and approved limits, and whether emerging signs of concern warrant a customer being placed on the Watch, Worry, Monitor list.
- Provide expertise to the business and regional credit teams
- Manage and improve the risk profile within the Customer Segment by implementing lending and credit guidelines and ensuring credit standards are consistent with HBUK and Group policy objectives.
