Our school is looking for an experienced, passionate educator to fill the full-time role of Primary Lead Teacher based currently at our Tipner campus. This is a challenging but very rewarding role supporting some of the most vulnerable students in city of Portsmouth. You will be collaborating with a team of teachers, pupil support workers, and parents to ensure that our students receive an excellent education.
Key responsibilities include designing effective curriculums, assessing lesson plans, implementing innovative teaching methods, and supporting teachers and pupil support workers in their various roles. To be successful as the lead primary teacher, you should be someone with a deep understanding of what it takes to teach students effectively. Top candidates will be excellent leaders and mentors, able to use their knowledge and skills to raise fellow teachers up and make lasting improvements to the school's educational processes. The ability to make the role your own and build strong relationships is essential.
We are a multi-site organisation which includes our BASE provision, Cosham Campus, Tipner Campus and Vanguard campus all based within the city of Portsmouth. We also have an Outreach Support Team, a Reintegration and Tuition service and Hospital tuition service at the Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth.
The Harbour School is an AP and SEMH school for students in Portsmouth. Our students range from year 5 up to year 11. We support students that have an EHCP for SEMH, those recovering from the trauma of permanent exclusion, those that unintentionally exclude themselves from education and children who cannot access school for medical reasons. At the Harbour school, we believe in a therapeutic and trauma-informed approach to understanding behaviours in and out of the classroom.
