Salary: £27,036 per annum (plus Inner London Weighting of £3,344 if applicable)
This role has exciting and varied responsibilities working with a range of stakeholders in the Red Cross and Red Crescent movement, both nationally and internationally.
You will maintain relationships with internal and external partners, including representing the British Red Cross at networking sessions, sector collaboration groups, suppliers, and the wider Red Cross and Red Crescent movement.
You will ensure we maintain a strong partnership approach to learning across the Red Cross and Red Crescent movement and humanitarian sector.
A day in the life of a Learning and Development Officer will involve:
- Manage allocated training projects and learning to ensure that training and online learning is shared timely and through the right channels to ensure it is impactful, targeted and effective.
- Support the International L&D Manager to undertake effective programme coordination and administration management.
- Have an understanding of the International Directorate’s strategy and apply to the allocated area of responsibility.
- Identify appropriate learning options to meet needs of individuals, teams and functions, creating proposals for learning as required.
- Maintain relationships with internal and external partners, including representing BRC at networking and sector collaboration groups.
- Participate in the BRC learning network and collaborate in Learning and organisation development across the organisation.
- Deliver occasional training events in UK and international locations.
- Monitor thematic trends and context to update both internal and external stakeholders, in both verbal and written formats.
- Collate data from evaluation surveys and provide analysis to stakeholders, making suggestions to improve learning outcomes.
- A broad understanding of Learning and Development (potentially through CIPD qualification or equivalent experience).
- An understanding of the humanitarian sector.
- Knowledge of learning cycles, Learning and Development methodologies and solutions.
- Experience of planning, developing and leading on Learning and Development interventions (e.g.: inductions, onboarding, mentoring coaching).
- Knowledge of project management, drafting, and editing skills.
- Initiative and ability to work independently when developing a project.
- Excellent administration and organisational skills with great attention to detail for maintaining accurate records and providing analysis.
- To be flexible and have a hands on approach.
