Job Elements

  • As an integrated member of the HR Team, the Learning and Development Officer will be responsible for, and support, the Learning and Development day -to-day cycle activities across a fast moving manufacturing site.
  • Actively contributing to the development of a Talent Culture, ensuring high quality Learning and Development opportunities in support of the People Plan.
  • Facilitate (plan, source, organise and when appropriate deliver) the best value learning solutions working directly with key stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement in our employees Learning and Development experience.
  • Influence the development of the Learning and Development proposition and calendar of courses by capturing and sharing customer needs, reviewing existing internal solutions, and researching suitable new courses from external learning suppliers.
  • Develop a training matrix to comply with ISO Standards and support employee development.
  • Monitor learning solutions, vendors, and employee feedback to keep appraised of leading practices, benchmarking, and external practices, monitor, and evaluate future legislation and market trends and consider innovative solutions, to best serve the business.
  • Support the People Plan to lead a workplace development scheme to Graduate Program, Apprenticeship Program, NVQ etc.
  • For complete transparency there will be the requirement to support the HR Team across the employee lifecycle within Recruitment, Onboarding of new employees, Off-boarding and administration.


The ideal candidate will have:

  • CIPD Level 3 (desirable)
  • Enthusiasm for facilitating high quality Learning and Development to all employees.
  • Flexible communication skills with the ability to influence a range of key stakeholders.
  • Experience of applying a training matrix to ensure compliance to ISO standards.
  • The confidence and skill to present pre-defined material.
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Excellent communication and engagement (both verbal and written)
