Learning and Training Advisor

Terms and Conditions: 37 hours per week, Full time, Permanent.

We are looking to recruit a permanent, full-time Learning and Training Adviser (Careers Adviser) to work as part of the New Directions Careers Service.

Your work will focus upon providing impartial careers information, advice and guidance to young people aged 14-19 (up to 25 if they have learning difficulties, disabilities or are care leavers) to assist and support them to remain in or return to education, training or employment, and to achieve their full potential.

You will specifically support our commissioned work with Looked After Children through the Virtual School and Leaving Care, as well as our commission with the Youth Justice Service, supporting young offenders. Work will also include a focus on pre-16 children, as part of our traded service to schools and early intervention work which is a key factor in raising participation.

Liaising with education and Training providers, along with local employers will be an important part of your role. You will also play a key part in identifying any gaps in Learning and Training provision across the borough, and therefore helping to ensure the needs of all young people are met.
