You will be supporting pupils at a school that prides itself on preparing children for their lifelong journey ahead. The area this school serves has its own challenges, with many children from disadvantaged families and a high level of deprivation. Your students are coming to school for a safe space and have an abundance of pastoral care available to them and their families. Here, they are empowered and motivated, they feel like their voices are heard. They are even involved in the interview process of new staff, so be prepared for their questions!
You provide a support network to teachers and other staff, addressing the needs of pupils who require assistance in overcoming barriers to learning. You will be working with pupils on both an individual basis for targeted interventions and with groups / whole classes as a support to the class teacher so flexibility is a must. You will be working together with class teachers to engage pupils and differentiate the curriculum where necessary. Your role may involve working with pupils with additional needs as well as gifted and talented pupils and this will be in both KS3 & KS4.
This is an exciting permanent opportunity in a school committed to recruiting the best quality staff to drive their vision forward. You will be really making a difference to children that need it most, some having been through adverse trauma. Many staff say that’s what they want to do when they go into education, yet not many take on roles to make that a reality. Here is your chance.
