Learning Mentor and Relationship and Restorative Leader:
You will be a learning and Relationships mentor at a school that prides itself on preparing children for their lifelong journey ahead. The area this school serves has its own challenges, with many children from disadvantaged families and a high level of deprivation. Your students are coming to school for a safe space and have an abundance of pastoral care available to them and their families. Academy leaders have made vast improvements to the curriculum in the past few years, and you will be clear on what you need to mentor. In your lessons students embark on a journey covering content and developing skills through engaging and practical activities. They will experience a fluid movement throughout KS3 and KS4.

This secondary school is based in Birmingham and is recruiting a permanent learning and Relationships mentor. You will be an experienced behaviour lead who has expertise in providing students with small group workshops in forming healthy friendships and Relationships. This forms part of our behaviour intervention team. You will be part of a wider team of mentor responsible for patrolling the academy and supporting with children who need support in regulation. This role includes funding for Level 4/5 qualification.
To be successful in your application, you should;
Be educated to a good standard with a minimum of GCSE Grade C in English and Mathematics or equivalent.
Have the ability to assist students with their learning and management of their behaviour.
Have the ability to successfully work with disaffected young people.
Have a knowledge and understanding of strategies to remove barriers to learning.
Be able to establish relationships with students, colleagues and other professionals.
Have good organization and time management skills.
Have excellent communication skills.
Experience of working in a school or similar educational setting is desirable but not essential.
Salary:
£23,500.00 - £23,893.00 Annually (FTE)
Actual £20,458 - £20,800
