An exciting opportunity has arisen for a lecturer to join our Theatre team, teaching on our BA (Hons) Dance and Professional Practice and FE Musical Theater course for a short term appointment.
If you have industry experience or are a qualified lecturer and can deliver outstanding lessons this could be the ideal position for you.
This highly practical course allows students to develop dance technique throughout a variety of genres in our outstanding facilities. There are options to pursue performance, choreographic and/or teaching interests as part of the course.We are looking for a lecturer with wide ranging dance skills in various genre.
Specialist Skills
- Ability to devise and teach classes from beginner to advanced level in classical ballet, modern & jazz dance, tap dance.
- Knowledge of movement build ups from beginner to advanced level in all genres.
- Ability to devise targeted sessions (core/flexibility/strengthening) and respond to individual student needs (hypermobility, scoliosis, existing injuries or restrictions).
- Ability to choreograph routines and create dance pieces in all genres at all levels.
- Ability to devise full scale narrative dance pieces and support students in creating their own.
The post is offered at a 0.4, 2 day a week post but we will consider sessional working / job share. This is initially a fixed term post until 5th July.
