Applications are invited for the appointment of a permanent Lecturer in Clinical Psychology at the University of Galway. The appointment will either be for one full-time (1.0FTE) or two part-time (0.5 FTE) posts, depending on the clinical experience and profiles of applicants. The successful applicant(s) will be required to fulfil relevant clinical teaching, research supervision, and placement monitoring duties on our accredited Doctor of Psychological Science in Clinical Psychology Programme. Applicants must hold a professional qualification in Clinical Psychology recognised by the Psychological Society of Ireland or the British Psychological Society and will hold a doctoral-level qualification in psychology (which may have been obtained as part of the professional qualification). In accordance with professional accreditation requirements, the successful candidate will also undertake the equivalent of up to two clinical sessions per week in an appropriate setting, as approved by the Head of School. The School of Psychology is housed in a purpose-built facility in the centre of campus. The School is innovative and recognised for teaching, research, and community contribution. The School of Psychology offers a suite of professionally accredited undergraduate and postgraduate (Higher Diploma, Masters and PhD) programmes. There are two active and successful research streams: Brain & Behaviour, and Health & Wellbeing. Researchers from both have participated in acquiring major national and international funding awards and we continue to develop a strong profile in quantity and quality of research output.
