This is a rare opportunity for a talented individual to join the high performing, Legal Safeguarding team in Cheshire West and Chester.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, hardworking, and able team player with a "can do attitude". Experience of working in Legal Safeguarding would be advantageous but not essential. Your potential, motivation, work ethic and ability and desire to work as an intrinsic part of a successful and energetic team is more important.
The post holder will be required to develop the ability to provide high quality legal advice to Social Work colleagues to ensure the statutory duties of the Council are met and vulnerable adults in the Borough are protected.
Responsibilities will include making applications to the Court of Protection with a particular emphasis on Deprivation of Liberty applications, the provision of duty legal advice to Social Work colleagues under the supervision of more experienced colleagues, reviewing evidence, obtaining evidence and attending meetings and external professionals and lawyers as required.
The role is offered on a part time (4 days a week) fixed term basis until end of March 2025

Grade 7- (SCP 17- 23) £28,770- £32,076 (pro rata per annum)
Grade 8- (SCP 23- 28) £32,076- £36,648 (pro rata per annum)
