Our client is seeking a Legal Cashier to work closely with the Finance Manager on a broad variety of Accountancy requirements, to include responding to internal staff’s queries and requests.

Type of work:
- Daily payments and processing via Bacs
- Maintaining and controlling of the office and client bank accounts
- Dealing with bankers in relation to Bacs & Chaps transfers of Clients’ funds
- Maintaining and controlling of purchase ledger system and the accounts payable inbox.
- Dealing with daily queries raised
- Provide holiday and sickness cover in agreeing the daily bank reconciliations for the office and client bank accounts
- Preparation of payments prior to receipts from the Legal Aid Agency
- Staff expenses.
- Dealing with any accounting functions, which may arise due to sickness or holiday
Is this the position for you?
- Previous experience working within a Legal Accounts team
- Knowledge of basic accounting practices and procedures
- Ability to learn, use and understand accounting computer and software
- Knowledge of Solicitors’ Accounts Rules
- An understanding of and an ability to carry out procedures as set out in the Accounting Manual
