SalaryLegal Secretary
£21,000-£25,000, Ripon, office based, a 35 hour working week, 24 days holiday entitlement plus bank holidays, closed between Christmas and New Year.
We are currently recruiting a Legal Secretary or Assistant for the commercial property team in this well established firm of solicitors in Thirsk. You will work in a small friendly team, providing legal administrative assistance to the fee earners.
Legal Secretary Requirements:
- To prepare correspondence and documents through audio-typing and word processing
- Administration of client files and compliance requirements
- To prepare mail and enclosures for despatch
- To make appointments, arrange meetings and to maintain an up-to-date diary
- Liaising with clients to provide updates
- Endeavour to resolve client queries where applicable
- Provide excellent customer service to all clients
- Maintain high standards of confidentiality and security when dealing with sensitive information

This Legal Secretary role would suit someone who has worked in a similar environment, has previous experience working as a Legal Assistant, Secretary or Audio Typist. If you have experience working in a commercial property environment this would be ideal, along with a good understanding of legal procedures.
Requirements:
- Previous secretary experience
- Proven audio typing and dictation experience
- Proven experience as a Legal Secretary or Assistant, preferably in commercial property
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Legal qualifications would be a bonus
