Legal Secretary / PA - Conveyancing Litigation

Salary: £21,000 - £26,000 - flexible for the right candidate Job Type: Full-timeLocation: Southampton

My client, a well-established leading law firm, are recruiting for a Legal PA / Secretary to work for the Conveyancing Litigation Partner in their Southampton office. Within the role you will be required to communicate professionally and effectively with clients, court, barristers, agents and third parties, particularly on over the phone.

Roles and Responsibilities

To include:

  • Dealing with confidential and sensitive information with the utmost respect and integrity as well as ensuring security
  • Making up files and drafting client care letters and terms of business, ensuring compliance with SRA codes as well as CQS,
  • Completing legal administrative tasks with minimal supervision
  • Closing and archiving files.
  • Deal with opening and dating the incoming post as and when necessary.
  • Making tea / coffee, etc as requested for meetings and the like and keeping the Partner's diary management up to date daily
  • Keeping your working environment tidy and organised and ensuring all filing is completed promptly so that people always know where things are
  • Assisting with photocopying, filing, shredding, archiving and other administrative tasks requested
  • Having a good working knowledge of Health & Safety procedures and office procedures generally
  • Being polite and courteous to clients, staff and all other visitors at all times

The Candidate:

The ideal candidate:

  • Experienced with audio typing.
  • Experience in conveyancing or litigation law.
  • Familiarity with conveyancing terminology, Land Registry Portal, SDLT online, search providers and mapping, indemnity insurance providers.
  • Experience working as a Legal Assistant, or PA.
  • Good computer skills and excellent attention to detail are required.
  • Good interpersonal skills, particularly on the telephone.
  • Professional presentation and appropriately attired at all times.
