This is a really exciting time to join Wyre Council, with a new Leader and Chief Executive leading our next chapter. We have a brand new and ambitious Council Plan with a clear vision: ‘Wyre is a place where everyone can prosper’, and across the council our staff strive to achieve this for businesses and residents within the borough.
The successful candidate will provide exceptional leadership to our busy Legal Services Team and will be responsible for the overall organisation, direction, control and performance of the Legal Services Team, providing legal and procedural advice and support across all the councils services.
As the Council’s Deputy Monitoring Officer, you will also provide support and advice to the Monitoring Officer, the Corporate Management Team, and all Elected Members, ensuring compliance with the constitution and the law.
Being a small District Council there is a varied range and nature of work which will allow the successful candidate to develop and build on their experience and career goals, in a supportive, forward thinking, inclusive council.
If you have a professional legal qualification and are self-motivated with the flexibility and drive to enable the council to continue the delivery of an exceptional service, then we want to hear from you.
In return we can offer you a salary up to £51,515 plus £3,242 Deputy Monitoring Officer allowance, 24 days annual leave rising to 29 days subject to length of service (pro rata), great work life balance with flexible working arrangements, employer pension contribution, free onsite parking, discounted gym membership, access to occupational health and wellbeing services, training and development opportunities and a supportive workplace culture that allows you to develop and grow.
