Team Educate are welcoming applications from Level 2 Qualified Teaching Assistants for a part-time role in an excellent Primary School.
Hours: 9.15-1.15 Monday-Friday
Are you a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting students with additional learning needs? Are you trained in the use of tactics to best support students with their wellbeing and mental health in order to enhance their learning? If you're a skilled and passionate SEN specialist or Level 2 Teaching Assistant, Team Educate would love to hear from you!
This role will involve supporting and working with pupils with a range of varying learning needs in a mainstream setting, including pupils with additional learning needs. The ability to support pupils within their lessons by building and nurturing strong relationships will be essential, along with an understanding and reassuring nature. The pupils will benefit from your supporting nature and understanding of strategies to engage them actively in their learning. In addition to supporting pupils in lessons, you will also be able to provide intervention in 1-to-1 and small group settings, with the guidance of the class teacher.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support and assistance to children within their lessons, both academically and in terms of wellbeing.
- Use your skillset to communicate and forge strong relationships with all learners and foster engagement in the classroom, utilising well-rehearsed engagement strategies.
- Follow guidance from Health Care and Education Plans
- Collaborate with teachers to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Provide a calm and consistent approach in supporting pupils both in and out of lessons.
Experience:
- Previous experience of working with children or young adults in an educational or specialist setting.
- Level 2 Qualification as a Teaching Assistant.
- Experience supporting pupils in a Primary setting would be advantageous.
- Patience, empathy, and compassion when working with children.
- Experience of supporting students with varying degrees of additional educational need.
