WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are offering the opportunity for two individuals to join RBSL on the Electro- Mechanical Engineering Degree Apprenticeship, this will be to join our growing Early Careers community at our site in Gateshead. RBSL is a growing and exciting business that specialises in the design, manufacture and support of military vehicles used by the British Army that has a growing and dynamic Early Careers program in both Gateshead and our headquarters in Telford.

- Working week: Monday - Thursday 08:15 -17:00 Friday 08:15 - 12:15 Total hours per week: 37
- Expected apprenticeship duration 60 Months
- Possible start date: Sept 2024
- Apprenticeship level: Level 6
- Positions: 2 positions available
- Closing Date: 16th January, however, we reserve the right to close applications earlier than stated depending on volume of applications.

What will the apprentice be doing?
Significant amount of block release weeks to Warwick University with the remainder of the time spent on site working within the engineering functions of RBSL. When in the business the apprentice will spend time in various areas of the Engineering function to gain knowledge and understanding of how each of these area support the RBSL business. These placements will vary in length from 3 - 6 months, and will build upon the academic knowledge gained from the time at University. All travel and accommodation costs will be covered by RBSL when at University.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Block release to College where the apprentice will be studying for an Electro- Mechanical degree apprenticeship. When in the business the apprentice will spend time in various areas of the engineering function, to build upon the knowledge and understanding gained whilst studying at college.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
On successful completion of the apprenticeship it is planned that the apprentice will exit into a role within the RBSL Engineering Team although the specific area within Engineering is planned to be defined within the final six months of the apprenticeship.
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

Qualifications
- GCSE or equivalent 3 additional GCSEs (Grade 4) essential, GCSE or equivalent English Language (Grade 4) essential, GCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade 4) essential
- A Level:AAA grades at A level, to include Mathematics and a Physical Science. Applicants with strong profile, but without A level Mathematics will be subject to passing a Maths assessment
- BTEC: BTEC Diploma grade D D , with an A grade A level Mathematics, or subject to passing a Maths assessment, BTEC Extended Diploma grade DDD, including two Mathematics units or subject to passing a Maths assessment
