Do
you have a desire for working with people, an interest in supporting the needs
of the local community, and a passion for what library services deliver,
including the promotion of reading, learning, wellbeing, and digital inclusion?
As
a Community Library Support Officer, you will be working alongside a team of
dedicated trustees and committed volunteers in a community library, supporting
and training the volunteers in the delivery of high-quality library and
information services, while meeting council priorities. You will support the
delivery of activities and events, provide excellent customer service,
undertake stock management, promote library services within the community, and
assist in resolving any issues as they arise.
You
will be passionate about books and reading, have excellent communication
skills, and the ability to work with volunteers, trustees, and a range of
community organisations. You will also have the ability to deliver a
customer-focussed service, and have strong literacy, numeracy and ICT skills.
This
post is for 15 hours per week. There may be the opportunity for occasional
additional work in other locations across the West Area library team.
