About the role
A single-person service, with exciting opportunities to make a real difference in someone's life. 24-hour, 3-1 support is provided by experienced professionals, who are looking for experienced people to join our client’s team. Specialised training will be provided and there are many opportunities to broaden your knowledge.
The role of the Support Worker is to provide specialist expertise and support to facilitate teams in achieving person centred outcomes for the people you support, some of whom have profound and complex needs, to maximise the individual’s independence and enable them to be active in their communities.
Duties will include:
- Making a difference in the lives of those you support
- Help to use a range of recovery-oriented and person-centered planning tools
- Ensure all plans and records relating to the people you support are accurate and up to date
- Support with everyday tasks to maximise the individual’s independence
- Work in a consistent and positive way with local managers and other team members to ensure people get a great service
- Undertake various levels of personal care and manual handling
About you
To be a Life Enabler, it is essential you have experience in:
- Supporting people who may challenge (verbally, physically), particularly people on the autistic spectrum
- Keeping calm and confident in challenging situations
- Experience of enabling people with a learning disability/autism to take positive risks in their lives
- Possess a manual driving licence and be able to drive a 7-seater van
- Knowledge of the Transforming Care Agenda
You will be given training, development and coaching to help you feel confident in providing great support and to help you advance in your career.
