Line Leader
Gi Group Scarborough are recruiting for a Line Leader to join our client's successful, well-established team based in the Bridlington area. This role is an immediate start.
As a Line Leader, you will implement the first line management of the Production teams process and quality.
Being a Line Leader requires an understanding of the urgent health and safety of the production team, product safety and product quality.
Principal responsibilities of a Line Leader include:
* Accountable for the production of products in a manner that satisfies leading industry standards.
* Organise resources according to the product, line and official manning levels.
* To keep work area to business standards.
* Achieve the targets and job standards set by the Team Leader.
* Comply with and maintain health and safety requirements.
* To ensure documentation is completed correctly, accurately and at the given times required.
* To ensure that all staff work to given methods, speed and quality.
* Address breaches of company policy and procedure with relevant employees and to ensure performance or behaviour is improved and good discipline is maintained.
* To ensure staff observe strict hygiene disciplines regarding line cleanliness and personal hygiene.
* To ensure that products are manufactured to internal or customer specifications.
* To ensure that product quality is maintained to at least internal or customer specification as a minimum.
* Ensure that any deviation to process, ingredient or proceduralised system is reported to the Team Leader and a Shift Production Supervisor immediately and appropriate action taken.
* Ensure that waste is minimised and documented accurately, and any major waste issues are reported to the Team Leader immediately.
* Ensure that product weights are controlled within specification and any deviation is reported to a Shift Production Supervisor immediately.
Line Leaders report to the Team Leader, other functional relationships:
* Shift Production Supervisor
* Hygiene
* QA
* Engineers
Abilities and experience of a Line Leader:
* Good time keeping and attendance is essential.
* A good level of numeracy and literacy.
* Ability to follow and give instructions.
* Ability to work to deadlines.
* Ability to work alone and as part of a team.
* Successful completion of company induction, which includes basic food hygiene and health & safety.
* To have a good degree of manual dexterity.
* To adopt good manual handling practices as and when required.
* Good communication skills, to include verbal and written English.
* Experience of working in a production environment.
* Successful completion of training in relevant tasks.
* Ability to lead a team
Rates of pay include a shift premium and enhanced night shift rate.
