You will be working for a manufacturer of clothes and fabrics based in Leicester.
Your new role
- Logistics Team Role: Working within the logistics team, you'll be responsible for monitoring import arrivals, maintaining communication with customer warehouses, and managing databases.
- Coordination and Deliveries: You'll coordinate with sales and merchandising teams, factories, and external logistics partners to ensure timely deliveries.
- Documentation Review: Part of your role involves reviewing all necessary import shipping documentation.
- Liaison and Accuracy: You'll liaise with freight forwarding agents and internal teams, ensuring accurate processing and maintenance of databases and paperwork.
- Pre-Alerts and Bookings: Additionally, you'll handle processing pre-alerts and booking deliveries.
- Other Duties: As required, you'll take on any other duties related to logistics and operations.
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5pm.
What you'll need to succeed
- Relevant Experience: Candidates should have experience in a similar role within logistics, shipping, or related fields.
- Import Freight Knowledge: Prior experience with import freight shipping and familiarity with Customs procedures is essential.
- MS Office Proficiency: Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and Outlook, is required.
- Attention to Detail: Strong administration skills and attention to detail are crucial.
- Effective Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
- Organisational Skills: Being highly organised is important for success in this role.
- Adaptability: The ability to thrive in a fast-paced and challenging environment is essential.
- Positive Attitude: An enthusiastic and determined approach, coupled with a positive attitude, is valued.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Candidates should be proactive problem solvers.
- ERP System Experience: Previous familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar ERP systems would be advantageous
