Position Overview:
They are now currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to join the team. The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for managing third-party transport companies, booking transportation services, coordinating collections and returns, and organising temporary event staff through an online booking system. Additionally, the role involves handling the financial aspects of logistics operations to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage third-party transport companies and subcontractors for trucking services, including freelance crew providers.
- Utilise systems to assess the skills of temporary event staff and allocate them accordingly.
- Organize collections and returns of event equipment and materials.
- Book and coordinate trucking services for event logistics, ensuring timely and efficient transportation.
- Use online booking systems to manage and track temporary event staff, ensuring adequate staffing levels for each event.
- Handle the financial aspects of logistics operations, including budgeting, invoicing, and cost control.
- Negotiate pricing and contracts with transport companies, subcontractors, and temporary staff agencies to secure the best deals.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless coordination of logistics with event planning and execution.
- Maintain accurate records of logistics activities and expenses.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in logistics coordination or a similar role, preferably in the events or hospitality industry.
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners.
- Proficiency in using online booking systems and logistics management software.
- Financial acumen and experience in budgeting and cost control.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
- A proactive and adaptable approach to problem-solving.
- Personality traits such as reliability, attention to detail, and a positive attitude are highly valued.
Remuneration
- Salary £30,000 - £32,000 (Dependant on experience)
- Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 09:00 - 17:30
- 28 days holiday, including bank holiday
