Reporting directly to the Logistics Manager, this is a key role within the Logistics department. Acting as the key Pirelli point of contact between the 3PL’s operative team, the postholder will be the warehouse and operations expert with full working knowledge of the processes, to ensure a smooth and efficient running of the warehouse facilities, whilst ensuring all Pirelli quality and procedural requirements are met and achieved
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Monitor overall stock levels and stock profile across all warehouses.
Ensure the 5s are followed for each site
To ensure the 3PLS are following Pirelli’s HSE standards.
Investigate causes of any stock mis-alignment issues with the 3PL and corrective actions
Manage and clear IDOC errors sent back by the 3PL
Follow the new SAP WMS implementation in Barton and Carlisle.
Point of contact for the quality team for logistics support
Raising dispensations and keeping track of their status
Monitoring and actioning inbound discrepancies
Updating serial numbers where required
Using qliksense and SQL and other tools to run queries, track serial numbers and extract data
Stocktake – managing and co-ordinating overall stocktake activity
Carry out audits – Quality/ETEL/Stock/Transit Points
Work closely with IT to assist on any project management/system improvements/system implementations.
Manage the system housekeeping – clearing any discrepancies and old in-transits.
Oversee the returns process/reverse logistics with the providers.
Project lead on any future projects with the 3PL’s.
Pallet management – monitored through the pallet tracker
Assist with the completion of any 8Ds.
Organise Gemba walks, using the 6-Sigma approach
Assist with the day to day management of the 3PL’s and the operations
Education
Degree level education
Experience
Significant experience within a large warehouse / logistics environment
Ground knowledge of operations in a warehouse / industrial environment
Experience with problem-solving
Skills
6 Sigma knowledge
Excellent analytical skills and comfortable with data extraction and manipulation
Good presentation skills
Flexible approach to work and able to work under pressure
Ability to organise workload, be self-motivated to ensure deadlines are achieved
Good communication skills
Able to develop and maintain strong relationships
Excellent IT knowledge and skills, to include Excel, Powerpoint, SAP and SQL
Flexibility to work as required during critical periods (eg month end, year end)
We are looking for an experienced warehouse / logistics professional, someone proactive and engaging with a high level of attention to detail. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing the warehouse operations, whilst ensuring all Pirelli processes and procedures are adhered to by both the internal team and any third party contractors. The ability to establish, develop and maintain relationships with good communication skills is critical, along with possessing strong operational warehouse / logistics knowledge.
The successful applicant will work 37.5 hours per week, 8.30 am - 5.00 pm Monday to Friday, although flexibility is required to work beyond these hours when required.
We do have a Smart working policy (hybrid working) in place which is 3 days in the office and 2 days at home. For any new starters to the business, there will be an initial requirement to be in the office on a full-time basis.
Salary for this role will be £36k - £39k per annum, depending upon skills, background and experience.
