We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join and to lead the delivery of a busy & enthusiastic Logistics & Resources Team (L&R Team) within Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service (GFRS).
Based on site working at Waterwells in Quedgeley, you will lead a strong and friendly team that supports the work of all Fire Service staff across the organisation.
About the Role
To take a lead role in developing, shaping, updating and delivering of GFRS’s Logistics and Resources work profile. In keeping with the GCC Procurement and Fleet activity, to ensure effective resilience and suitability for the organisation. To be responsible for and coordinate the strategic direction, and the management of the Community Safety Directorate Logistics and Resources. To assist the GFRS Head of Logistics and Resources in the delivery of the Strategic Logistics and Resources support of GFRS.
To support in moving the service forward, this post will be required to be involved in project work to achieve delivery. You will be reporting to the Head of Logistics and Resources who will be looking for an enthusiastic and experienced manager to help in a comprehensive support function to the rest of the team, plus our other colleagues across GFRS and GCC.
About You
This is a fantastic role for someone with the drive and motivation with high standards to make a difference to our community.
Have a good understanding of procurement regulations within Local Government and have extensive knowledge in Policies and Procedures for an ever progressing fire service.
The successful applicant will be expected to manage contracts, deal with suppliers and line manage a team of committed people. You will also be responsible for organising the purchasing of equipment to supply Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue with the best equipment possible. This crucial role will involve extensive project working to enable GFRS to meet its organisational goals.
