Lunchtime Supervisor

The governors of The Sherwood School are seeking to employ a highly motivated and enthusiastic Lunch Play-Co-ordinator to join our school in March 2024. We provide a warm and friendly working environment with high staff morale and a commitment to developing our staff to achieve their full potential.

We aim to promote the wellbeing and safety of children and to ensure they are offered the best opportunities that we can provide. We were graded as ‘Good’ in our most recent OFSTED inspection in July 2023: ‘This is a school where pupils are happy and where staff support their safety. Pupils’ rights and responsibilities are at the heart of this community.’
We are a UNICEF Rights respecting Gold school where children enjoy learning and achieving in the context of a broad and balanced curriculum, with a special emphasis on the expressive arts, music and Philosophy for Children. This has also been acknowledged in our last Ofsted report: ‘Leaders have put in place a curriculum which includes a wide range of subjects. The approach for all subjects’ matches the ambition of the national curriculum. It is also
designed to meet the needs of the school community.’

We are looking for a candidate with:
• Experience of working with children and young people (either paid or unpaid).
• The ability to encourage and communicate effectively with children.
• Knowledge of basic Health and Safety and First Aid.
• Effective communication and team working skills.
• Ability to react calmly and quickly in an emergency.
• Good interpersonal skills
• Clear and robust behaviour management skills
