Machine Minder

Overview:

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Machine Minder to join our team in an ice cream manufacturing plant. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Machine Minder will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of production machinery, including ice cream mixers, freezers, flavoring machines, and packaging equipment. This position requires strong technical abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety in our manufacturing process.

Responsibilities:

Machine Operation:

Operate and monitor production machinery, including ice cream mixers, freezers, flavoring machines, and packaging equipment, to ensure smooth and efficient operation.

Conduct routine inspections of machinery to identify any issues or abnormalities, troubleshooting and resolving minor mechanical problems as needed.

Monitor equipment performance and make adjustments to settings as necessary to maintain product quality and production efficiency.

Quality Control:

Monitor product quality throughout the production process, conducting visual inspections and using testing equipment to ensure adherence to quality standards.

Assist with the setup and calibration of machinery to meet product specifications and quality requirements.

Notify supervisors of any deviations from quality standards or production issues that may impact product integrity.

Maintenance and Cleaning:

Perform routine maintenance tasks on production machinery, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts, to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns.

Follow preventive maintenance schedules and work closely with maintenance technicians to address any mechanical issues or repairs that arise.

Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the production area, including machinery and work surfaces, to meet food safety regulations and company policies.

Safety Compliance:

Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while operating machinery, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and following lockout/tagout procedures.

Report any safety hazards, incidents, or near-misses to supervisors immediately and participate in safety training programs as required.

Assist in maintaining a safe working environment by identifying and addressing potential safety hazards in the production area.

Team Collaboration:

Communicate effectively with supervisors, production operators, and maintenance technicians to ensure smooth coordination and teamwork in the production process.

Assist production staff as needed, including filling in for absent operators or performing additional tasks to support production goals.

Collaborate with colleagues to identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains in machine operation and maintenance.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification in machine operation or maintenance preferred.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in machine operation, preferably in a manufacturing environment, with knowledge of production machinery and equipment.

Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify and resolve basic mechanical issues.

Attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions and procedures to ensure product quality and safety.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet production deadlines.

Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends, as required by production schedules.

Additional Requirements:

Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Willingness to work in a cold environment (ice cream production facility) and adhere to food safety and hygiene standards.

Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to safety regulations and procedures.

Must be fluent in Hindi and English languages.
