Are you passionate about the world of packaging and ready to take your skills to the next level? We're searching for a dedicated and talented Casemaker/Machine Operative to become an integral part of our clients dynamic team in the heart of Sheffield.
You will be responsible for the safe operation of machinery, ensuring efficiencies are maximised and downtime is minimised. You will have set productivity and performance targets to achieve, ensuring that consistent quality standards are met, and you will need to ensure that maintenance and cleaning tasks are carried out correctly, in line with the planned maintenance schedule. We'd also like for you to support and assist with improvement initiatives, as and when they arise.
Mon - Thurs 7am - 3:30 pm, Friday 7am - 2:30pm
Duties & responsibilities:
- Ensure all equipment is in a safe and serviceable condition
- Enforce and promote safety and housekeeping in your area of work
- To report safety and hazard faults
- Ensure customer quality standards are always maintained, including board calliper, print coverage, colour matching, die registration, case size and case squareness
- Ensure a rapid response to machine failures and breakdowns and inform relevant departments (planning & despatch)
- Keep Line Manager informed of work progress
- Ensure cleaning schedules are rigidly adhered to and meet the agreed schedule (daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly checks)
- Employ continuous improvement techniques and share best practice with colleagues
- Demonstrate flexibility to cover absence and sickness as required
Preferred requirements:
- Previous experience of operating a casemaker machine
- Experience working in a production/machine operating environment
- Self-motivated, positive, enthusiastic
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Good Team Player
- Quality conscious
- Positive approach to multi-skilled working
- To be open minded, flexible to challenge and the ability to challenge and be challenged.
