We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Electrician qualified to level II to join our facilities team at the University of West London in Ealing. This is a permanent role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm / 10am to 7pm, shift times alternating weekly.
The role:
- To undertake the maintenance and repair of buildings under contract to the University of West London, predominantly in the Ealing area but also occasional work in Brentford and Reading
- To maintain all buildings and plant ensuring service standards are maintained to the required levels
- To carry out planned and reactive maintenance ensuring that work is carried out to the highest standards and is compliant with statutory legislation
- Responsible for the safe operation, planned and reactive maintenance of electrical systems, associated plant/equipment installed throughout the sites
- To ensure the prompt and accurate completion of any paperwork and electronic documentation.
- Knowledge of principals of compliance legislation and importance of record keeping
- Delivering exceptional customer service
- Working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm / 10am to 7pm, shift times alternating weekly, with participation in the on call rota
The person:
- Must hold a recognised electrical trade apprenticeship and/or relevant qualifications to level 2 (theory and practice) in a relevant electrical discipline with suitable industry experience.
- Will have experience in a similar role in building services/FM ideally gained in an education environment
- Must be client focused with a delivery orientated and a can-do approach to work
- Must have a good understanding of health and safety best practice; formal training an advantage
- Able to work alone, and on own initiative carrying out PPM checks and reactive works
- Experience with working on Fire alarm systems to undertake fist line fault finding and /or repairs
- Willingness to attain cross skilling and to undertake training and qualify as an Authorised Person as required
