Sirius Recruitment are working with a forward thinking, versatile and innovative manufacturing business, specialising in personalised health & wellness supplements. They are now recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join their existing team, working on a night shift, 4 on, 4 off shift pattern.

The Duties of the Maintenance Engineer:
The Maintenance Engineer will be working primarily on supporting our Food Production operation, by maintaining and repairing our fleet of bespoke machinery, primarily our depositing manufacturing line, alongside bespoke 3D printers, filling machines and more.
You will provide hardware support and maintenance of all in-house built machinery along with all machinery in the production environment at the factory. This includes planned and preventative maintenance, diagnosing faults and responding to support requests. Also, various other jobs around the sites.
The core focus of this maintenance work will be a manufacturing line which is a continuous conveyor line. You will need to oversee operation and support during changeover periods to ensure all equipment is maintained and checked well.
Whilst the line is running, you will offer operations support, system checking and assist with quality adherence. You will carry out a series of defined checks at regular intervals to ensure the safety and compliance of the machinery.
The ideal candidate for the Maintenance Engineer:
You will be a problem solver and have the initiative to work through issues and resolve them in a timely and orderly manner. You will be able to keep calm to work through issues under pressure and communicate to the wider team.
No specific qualifications are required, but an experience with mechanical engineering, electronics and mechanical machinery must be demonstrable!
Essential Skills/Experience for the Maintenance Engineer:
* Strong problem-solving skills essential.
* Electrical and mechanically minded with a good understanding of how mechanical components work also wiring works as well.
* Strong DIY and Technician skills, with the ability and knowledge to take complex devices apart and reassemble them.
* Knowledge of how to operate standard workshop equipment such as Pillar Drills and Angle Grinders.
* Knowledge of Electronics, especially AC and DC wiring, Single phase and 3phase, is a must.
* Understanding of mechanics.
* Quick learner when it comes to understanding new systems and new electronics.
Desirable Skills/Experience
* Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Experience of maintaining equipment such as PLCs, motors, conveyors, filling lines, belts etc. is highly desired.
* Good understanding of how bearings and motion systems work and how they must be maintained.
* A qualification such as a degree in mechanical engineering is beneficial.
