The Opportunity
Join our client's Heavy Engineering team in Peterborough, supporting an advanced engine test facility. Contribute to the forefront of technology by manufacturing, implementing, and upgrading test facility support systems for engine development and verification.
The Role
In the role of Multi-skilled Maintenance Technician, your responsibilities include promptly responding to testbed and facility breakdowns, conducting effective repairs using diverse techniques.
You will also play a key role in maintaining, repairing, and installing new facility equipment. Following documented standard work procedures with hand power tools and lifting equipment, you'll engage with a multi-disciplinary team, running improvement and root cause investigation projects.
Technical presentations of findings, training apprentices and co-workers, and maintaining a clean, safe work area according to 5S principles are integral aspects of this position.
About You
The ideal candidate possesses a full engineering apprenticeship, NVQ level 3 qualification, or equivalent relevant job-related experience. Additionally, a comprehensive understanding of maintenance processes, tools, machine shop operations, equipment, and materials is essential. Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical drawings and schematics is a prerequisite.
Candidates may also bring expertise in fault finding and diagnostics on hydraulic systems or Fuel Systems, along with experience in laser alignment of rotating equipment.
