We are seeking a Finance Assistant to join our Head Office Finance Team. This high-profile role is ideal for an ambitious and proactive individual who can deliver timely and accurate financial reporting and work effectively with stakeholders across the business. The role involves supporting the accounts team with the preparation of monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and Group accounts consolidation.
Day-to-day of the role:- Prepare monthly management accounts for multiple sites and franchises.
- Assist senior Operations Directors and site Departmental Managers in finalising their accounts, providing support and analysis.
- Conduct balance sheet validations, control accounts, and working capital controls.
- Perform monthly VAT checks and prepare quarterly submissions.
- Update weekly Group reports for senior management, including sales, forecasts, and working capital.
- Ensure monthly manufacturer submissions are completed within deadlines.
- Identify issues of concern proactively and seek solutions to rectify them.
- Implement and maintain strong financial controls.
- Support and maintain the integrity of the dealer management system.
- Participate in the yearly budgetary process and support bi-annual Group Vehicle Stock count and reconciliation.
- Undertake internal audit exercises and support the preparation of Year End Accounts.
- Provide financial understanding and query resolution support to all business areas.
- Be flexible to undertake any accounts task at all levels as needed.
- Minimum AAT Level 4 or studying towards ACCA or CIMA.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to align activities to a common goal.
- Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, complex formulas, and data analytic techniques.
- Deadline-driven and capable of working under pressure.
- Good understanding of KPIs and ability to interpret management accounts to identify improvement areas.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with the Finance Team and managers across the business.
- Experience with automotive software Keyloop ‘Drive’ or Kerridge Rev 8 is advantageous but not essential.
